Robata Monkey is a robatayaki style izakaya. We serve a careful selection of local & imported Japanese fresh seafood, juicy meats & seasonal vegetables grilled over an OPEN SANDPIT HEARTH in Petaling Jaya.
This cooking method is keeping with the traditional robatayaki style, which originated in rustic farmhouses throughout Sendai.
Story goes that fishermen put red-hot charcoal in a solid wooden box at the start of the day, took it with them, and at the end of the day the charcoal would still be hot enough to cook the fish as soon as they dock.
Robata Monkey's speciality dishes are our Saba Fish, Baby Salmon, Hokkaido Hokke Fish, Hokkaido Snow Crab, Torched Japan Wagyu.
Other than from the robatayaki we have a good selection of sashimi, sushi, tempura & kushiyaki on the menu.
The fun at Robata Monkey is in the performance watching the chef grilling your food over a selection of wine, German beers, Japanese sake, shochu, cocktails & beers.
